Moldova: Reforming Energy Sectors and Protecting Forests

On 17 October, AFD committed to investing €200 million to two strategic sectors in Moldova: energy transitions and the sustainable management of natural resources. The investments will be devoted to supporting reforms over the next three years, with an eye to making both sectors more sustainable.
France announced that AFD Group would boost its commitments in Moldova during the fourth ministerial conference of the Moldova Support Platform. The announcement was followed by the signature of several agreements, which will contribute to the sustainable management of forestry and energy production and distribution. They will also encourage energy efficiency in public buildings.

AFD Group will also support the country in the renovation of its irrigation systems, in addition to activities already launched in the country’s railways, microfinance, rule of law and crisis responses.
