Guarantees, an instrument to mobilize local resources
AFD Group offers its clients guarantees designed to facilitate access to financing for small businesses and microfinance institutions by reducing the risk borne by local banks when providing loans. These guarantees also support French SMEs when expanding their operations abroad.
AFD Group has established partnerships with more than 100 financial institutions around the world to promote investment and job creation.

CITYRIZ: Facilitating sustainable investment in Africa
To facilitate the financing of sustainable infrastructure projects led by African local authorities, AFD Group offers public and private financial institutions the CITYRIZ guarantee. Water, transport, energy... CITYRIZ guarantees banks to facilitate the mobilization of financing for projects carried out by local authorities and their service providers.

Public Payment Guarantees: Mitigating the risk of payment defaults by public entities
Public Payment Guarantees (PPGs) are available to banks and private companies seeking to invest alongside public actors (States, public enterprises, local authorities) in infrastructure projects and mitigate the risk of payment defaults. They can be used for concession contracts and public-private partnerships (PPPs).

SOGEFOM: A tool facilitating access to bank loans for MSMEs
SOGEFOM is a guarantee fund which, at the request of banks, provides partial guarantees for the loans that the banks allocate to MSMEs (defined in accordance with European standards). It operates across New Caledonian territory and the Loyalty Islands, in all sectors of activity except for banking intermediation and real estate development.
