Reducing Pollution from Cooking Smoke: key lessons from the REDGAS randomized study in Burkina Faso
Published on
Universal access to clean and efficient cooking remains an environmental and health challenge: despite progress in electrification, wood-based cooking is still widely used in many countries. The REDGAS impact evaluation, conducted in Burkina Faso through a Randomized Controlled Trial, measured the effects of facilitating access to cooking gas—either through credit or a subsidy—on household behavior, exposure to pollution, and health.
This evaluation was carried out as part of the PAIRES program.
