Randomized Control Trials in the Field of Development

The idea for this collective volume was born in the summer of 2018, with the desire to foster a scientific controversy about a method whose influence was growing and, in our opinion, remained insufficiently challenged. The nobelization of Abijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer took place just as we were finalizing the manuscript: it makes the controversy all the more urgent and necessary. To implement this project, we did not receive any particular “project” or “funding”, which proves that it is still possible to do research in a free and disinterested way.
