Ko Naing Oo and a life in harmony with dolphins in Myanmar

The Irrawaddy dolphin has seen its population plummet by half in the last 60 years. This species is classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The objective of this project, implemented by the NGO Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), is to preserve the dolphins through the creation of protected areas, to raise community awareness of sustainable fishing and to develop eco-tourism.
AFD has been financing it since early 2020 with a 1.5 million euro grant.
