The human rights-based approach: A lever for transformation

92% of the SDG targets are rooted in the international corpus of human rights. In this context, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs' human rights strategy calls for "support for human rights everywhere", and considers that human rights-based approach (HRBA) is applicable to all sectors of intervention and geographies. This operational is currently being tested at AFD with a view to facilitating its gradual integration into operations, but also to be able to better reporting. At a time when planetary limits are being exceeded and the triple ecological crisis (climate, biodiversity, environment), the HRBA is also a powerful lever for achieving the SDGs, in an ecocentric logic, with a view to taking action for the living world as a whole.
