On January 13 at 2:00 pm CET, John Tobin-de la Puente (Professor of Practice, Cornell University) and Andrew W. Mitchell (Founder and Senior Adviser, Global Canopy), in their role as publishers, will present and discuss with a panel the "Little Book of Investing in Nature - A simple guide to financing a new deal for nature".
For its tenth anniversary, the "Little Book of Investing in Nature” is getting a new look. This book aims to energise the dialogue to meet the targets negotiated within the post 2020 Biodiversity framework in preparation for COP 15 by clearly laying out options for financing biodiversity conservation. While some measures to protect biodiversity may come at an economic cost, others are likely to generate strong returns, economic and otherwise. This book presents evidence that, if a well-considered series of measures to protect nature is implemented the funding gap by 2030 can be filled.
After highlights from Prof John Tobin about “How much and How can we pay for Nature?”, our panelists from Mexico, the Finance Industry and The World Bank will discuss how this book can help public sector, business and civil society actors in developing practical financing solutions for biodiversity.
